Birchwood is an area of Hatfield in Hertfordshire (UK) and is home to the three dojos of the Hatfield Shotokan Karate Club (also know as “Birchwood Karate Club”).
This family orientated club is one of the many clubs that form the English Shotokan Karate Association (ESKA). ESKA’s Hombu (HQ) is based in nearby Stevenage.
Beginners are Welcome (All ages – 5 to 105)
The Birchwood club is run by Sensei John Gillespie (5th Dan) and Ian Ramsden (4th Dan). Both instructors are Qualified.
John has won many trophies from competing in Kata competitions at both Regional and National levels.
